One of the UK’s largest police forces has doubled down on its recommendation of key safes that have achieved Secured By Design certification – the stamp of approval most of our products carry.
Nottinghamshire Police has urged residents to buy key safes that have earned accreditation by Secured By Design, an official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings.
The force made the plea following a spate of burglaries in Nottingham where intruders had breached weak key safes, unaccredited by Secured By Design, to gain entry to properties.
Secured By Design has long been an advocate of products designed, manufactured and sold by The Key Safe Company. Indeed, it was The Key Safe Company that launched the first police preferred key safe, way back in 2010.
We have an entire range of police preferred keys safes; each one having acquired Secured by Design accreditation.
The Supra C500 and Supra C500 Pro were game changers in access management and the forerunners to our two latest products, the ark Tamo and the ark Tamo Pro.
Each of these police preferred key safes offers maximum safety without compromise. Whether you’re looking to store keys, fobs or access cards at the point of need, these ultra-safe, ultra-reliable units won’t let you down.
Research has been carried out to examine the effectiveness of doors and windows that have achieved Secured By Design specification. According to the Master Locksmiths Association, a study of 1,520 Nottingham residential properties found that burglary rates went down 42 per cent after the installation of Secured By Design-accredited windows. Twice as impactful when compared to the city-wide non-install reduction of 21%.
Given that our key safes often contain keys to doors and windows, it’s imperative they are every bit as robust. Our police preferred range proudly supports that objective.
