The Key Safe Company Marks 30 Years by Supporting Dementia Research
AAs it celebrates its 30th anniversary, The Key Safe Company has pledged a year of fundraising and awareness for Race Against Dementia.

Three Decades of Safer Access
Launched by visionary entrepreneur David Ogden in 1996, the company introduced the application of key safes to the care industry; helping to open up 4.1 million hours of domiciliary care each week for vulnerable people in the UK, including those who live with the debilitating condition dementia.
The Key Safe Company’s class-leading products have helped to save lives, by providing carers and emergency workers with quick and easy access to vulnerable people’s homes, and have enabled local authorities across the UK to save millions of pounds in operational efficiencies.

Supporting Breakthrough Dementia Research
To commemorate its 30th anniversary milestone, The Key Safe Company has pledged to raise awareness and funds throughout 2026 for Race Against Dementia. The charity raises money to fund breakthrough and innovative dementia research and was launched in 2016 by motor racing icon Sir Jackie Stewart after his wife, Helen, was diagnosed with dementia.

He added: “One of the first things I did after launching the business was to listen and learn from the care industry. We acted by developing products, specifically for the industry, that could help carers and emergency workers to access and support vulnerable people in their own homes.
“Our products have transformed the delivery of social care; opening up doors and independence for many people, including those who live with dementia. We’ve spent much of the past 30 years fighting the corner of people who live independently, but who receive care at home.
"Key safes have helped unlock more than 4.1 million hours of domiciliary care every week for vulnerable people across the UK.”

Throughout 2026, the team will participate in exciting fundraising activities and challenges. Regular updates will be shared across Key Safe’s channels to encourage supporters to join their journey and to help make a difference.

Celebrating 30 Years with a New Anniversary Logo
To mark three decades of innovation, growth and commitment to safety and security, the business is also unveiling a special anniversary logo, in collaboration with the University of Worcester. Students were invited to pitch creative concepts that reflected the Worcester-based company’s heritage, values and future vision.
Following a fiercely competitive process, Fine Art undergraduate Kate Phillips’ design was selected as the winner. Kate’s logo draws inspiration from the pearl and its shell. The pearl symbolises 30 years of growth, value and celebration, while the surrounding shell represents protection, strength and security - core themes for the company.
Featuring an iridescent finish and a clean, modern aesthetic, the logo places The Key Safe Company’s existing brand at its centre, celebrating three decades of success in a timeless and meaningful way.

Commenting on the project, Kate said: "This was a wonderful collaboration to be part of, and I am thrilled that my design has been chosen to celebrate The Key Safe Company’s 30th year.”
David added: “We’re proud to support local, emerging artists and designers. Opening up this project to students like Kate only reinforces our commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening links with the local community.”

Looking Ahead
The Key Safe Company has sold in the region of three million key safes worldwide since it was founded. It launched the world’s first police preferred key safe and continues to blaze a trail in access management with mechanical products that pass the highest attack standards in their class.
