Celebrating 30 Years of Safer Access

For 30 years, The Key Safe Company has been at the forefront of access management – transforming the way care is delivered and helping millions of vulnerable people live safely and independently at home.

Founded in 1996 by David Ogden, we pioneered the use of key safes within the UK care sector. Since then, our products enable over 4.1 million hours of domiciliary care per week, providing carers and emergency services with fast, secure access when it matters most.

Our class-leading key safes have helped save lives, improved outcomes for people living with dementia, and delivered millions of pounds in operational efficiencies for local authorities across the UK.

Supporting Race Against Dementia

To mark this milestone year, we are proud to support Race Against Dementia throughout 2026.

Dementia affects millions of families, and this cause is deeply connected to our mission of supporting independent living and safer access for vulnerable people.

Throughout 2026, our team will be taking part in fundraising challenges and awareness activities, sharing updates and inviting our community to join us in making a difference.

In Support of Race Against Dementia

A shared commitment to innovation and safety

From our earliest days, we listened to the care industry and developed products specifically designed to help carers and emergency workers support people safely in their own homes.

Today, The Key Safe Company has sold nearly three million key safes worldwide and continues to lead the way in mechanical access solutions that meet the highest security and attack resistance standards in their class — including the world’s first police-preferred key safe.

Our ongoing investment in research and development mirrors Race Against Dementia’s drive for innovation and progress.

Our 30th Anniversary Logo

To celebrate three decades of growth, safety and service, we have unveiled a special anniversary logo created in partnership with the University of Worcester.

Designed by student Kate Phillips, the logo is inspired by a pearl within its shell:

  • The pearl represents 30 years of growth, value and achievement
  • The shell symbolises protection, strength and security
  • Featuring a modern, iridescent finish, the design places our existing brand at its heart while honouring our heritage and future vision.
