Opening Doors to Connection: Key Safe and Myfolks Combat Social Isolation

The Key Safe Company, a leading access management provider, are thrilled to announce their new partnership with Myfolks, an organisation offering practical and emotional help to elderly people within their own homes.

The Key Safe Company, based in Worcestershire, provide key safes and secure access solutions across the UK & Europe. These products have had a transformational impact on the domiciliary care industry, changing the way care is given across the UK by allowing seamless access into homes, ensuring caregivers and emergency services can deliver their vital and life-critical services.

When Louise Thompson, Founder of Myfolks, saw how Key Safe’s products align with their mission, she reached out.

“The work Key Safe does enables the work Myfolks does and I’m incredibly grateful for that” she said.

“When people become elderly, and they need visits from Myfolks they can’t always get to the door. Maybe because of mobility issues, they may be deaf or maybe they have dementia. Our Myfolkers are safely able to access the house using the key safe.”

Myfolks offers a 24/7 call-out service providing everything from a friendly face to have a cup of tea with, to someone to help out with odd jobs and light household tasks.

“These products are really safe and completely mechanical which means they are not linked to the internet,” Louise said. “It enables us to get in to visit people and to really make a difference to their lives.”

In 1996, David Ogden, Founder of The Key Safe Company, introduced the concept of storing a key outside of a property. It soon became apparent that the products provided a solution for many problems, including the ability to deliver services into people’s homes.

David commented, “It became clear that we had to make sure the security side of these products are addressed, as our customers safety is the priority for me.”

David’s ambition is to design products he would be confident in his own family using, continuously driving industry standards to create more secure products, ensuring the end safety of his customers.

“We worked with police, the ‘Loss Prevention Accreditation Board’ and most importantly, our customers, to design a reliable product that catered to requirements and ultimately kept people safe.”

This aligns with Louise’s vision, who created Myfolks out of a desire to help her own parents and to battle the social isolation many older people feel.

David says “the work that Louise and the team at My folks do is outstanding. I’m personally hugely proud to support them in the incredible work that they are doing.”

This shared vision led to a clear and strong collaboration between the businesses. Together, the organisations are committed to growing this partnership and raising awareness about maximum security key safe products that families can rely on, to ensure their loved ones are safe, aiding Myfolks' mission to provide practical and emotional help at home, to those suffering from social isolation.
