How Does a Key Safe Provide Access for Emergency Services?

Our key safes grant quick yet secure access for emergency services and eliminate the time it will take for them to either look for a vulnerable hidden spare key or gain entry via alternative means, such as waiting for a friend or family member to arrive with a key to the property.

If you were in the position where you needed to allow emergency services to open a key safe you could choose to disclose the code to them over the phone so that they could gain entry and provide assistance.

Our Supra key safes also provide peace of mind if you are out of the house, or on holiday and you worry that you may have left the stove on, or that you haven’t locked the back door. With a Keysafe you have the solution of allowing a trusted individual to gain emergency access to your property and fix the issue without the need for you to rush back home.

How to give access to emergency services?

Our key safes grant quick yet secure access for emergency services and eliminate the time it will take for them to either look for a vulnerable hidden spare key or gain entry via alternative means, such as waiting for a friend or family member to arrive with a key to the property.

Are key safes easy to use for my elderly parents?

Our key safes are easy to use while maintaining the highest possible standards in security.

Our police preferred key safes also have long cone-shaped buttons and a twist dial which allows ease of use for less dexterous customers.

Our Supra P500  Keysafe™ also comes with an anti-tamper plate, which adds extra security and stops people who have access to the key, from changing the code once it has been set. This makes it perfect for use by people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s to prevent the code from being changed accidentally. The plate is also an optional extra for the Supra C500 Keysafe™.

We suggest making a note of the code once you have set it and storing it in a safe place, as without the code, there is no other way to access the key safe.

How will I install a key safe for my elderly parents?

Ensure you have the correct tools, which are listed in the instruction leaflet found in the key safe box. It is vital that you follow the instructions closely so that your device maintains its security level.

When installed correctly, our police preferred range are the most secure mechanical key safes on the UK market.

We supply all the accessories you will need, including a template and four self-tapping masonry screws to make sure that your installation is as simple as possible.

Self-installation is quick and easy, but if you do need some extra assistance, we have created a handy installation video. Our FAQ page will also answer any niggling questions you may have while installing your device.

What’s the best key safe for carers?

We have a range of key safes that allow quick, safe access to carers. For those who have just left hospital to continue their recovery at home and require a carer for a shorter period of time, we have two temporary solutions: the J5 Over the Door Keysafe™, and the Portable Keysafe™. These two devices can be attached to the door or railing temporarily. Once you no longer need a carer to have access to your home, these can be removed immediately.

For a longer-term solution, we recommend our police preferred Supra C500 Keysafe™ and Supra P500 Keysafe™. The most secure mechanical key safes on the UK market, the Supra C500 and P500 have been awarded the highest attack standard by an external testing body ever achieved by a mechanical key safe: the formidable LPS1175 Issue 8 A5. This accreditation will provide peace of mind, knowing that your keys are as safe and secure as they can be, letting you live life without limitations or worry.

What does police preferred mean?

Secured by Design (SBD) is an official police initiative that strives to continuously improve the security of buildings across the UK.

The initiative oversees an accreditation scheme, the Police Preferred Specification, which ‘provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime’.1

Police preference means security and reliability.

Following rigorous testing by an independent body, the Supra C500 Keysafe™ and Supra P500 Keysafe™ secured the Issue 8 A5 attack standard, an accreditation recognised by Secured By Design's Police Preferred Specifications

For end-users and homeowners, police preference provides confidence. The presence of the police initiative Secured by Design, and the LPCB logo found on our Supra C500 and P500 key safes demonstrate quality and assurance and the promise that your keys and therefore your home are secure.
