How to Install a Key Safe Outdoors

Insurer Admiral revealed a shocking statistic, stating that 1 in 5 people in the UK admit to keeping a spare key under a doormat or flowerpot. This opens your home and, most importantly, your family to some nasty risks.
You have probably thought to yourself: ‘There has got to be a safer and simpler way of hiding my spare key that doesn’t compromise home security!’ And you’re right! If you want to keep you and your loved ones safe – a key safe is the answer.
Our range of police preferred key safes, the Supra C500 and Supra P500, are not only convenient places to store your key but are also the most secure mechanical key safes on the UK market, so you know you are in safe hands.
A Supra keysafe setup is a simple DIY task that can be ticked off the list quickly, but will provide lifelong security and peace of mind, knowing that only trusted friends and family have access to your home – but if you are still wondering just how easy it can be, we’ve put together this handy FAQ list.

How to install a key safe by yourself?

Firstly, make sure you have the correct tools, which are listed in the instruction leaflet found in the outdoor key safe box. Please note that, as the UK’s most secure mechanical devices, our Supra C500 and P500 key safes boast an independent security accreditation from the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB). It is important that you closely follow each step of the installation process set out in the instruction leaflet, as this will ensure that your device maintains the LPCB attack standard.

To make your key safe setup as seamless as possible, we supply all the accessories you will need, including a template and four self-tapping masonry screws that remove the need for fiddly wall plugs.

If you find that you don’t have the right drill bit to hand, no problem! We also offer a separate fitting pack which includes a masonry drill bit and a torx head screwdriver so you’ll have everything you need.

Home keysafe installation should be quick and easy but if you do need some extra assistance, we have created a handy installation video which you can follow, step by step. If you have any additional questions around Key safe installation, or anything else, take a look at our FAQ page.
